A Potential Hot Mess

Been racking my brain trying to figure out how to get this pattern:

Here:

But would it horribly clash with a headboard shaped like this?

Upholstered in this?

I hope not...cause that's the plan...as of right now at least. Perhaps I'll be able to pull off that pattern on pattern way of decorating that is so VERY hard to do correctly but looks amazing if you can get it just right...or can end up looking a total mess if you fail...

I foresee lots of taping in the near future. But then again, it's nothing I'm not used too...

Oh yeah, did I mention I painted more of my kitchen black? The backsplash, behind the stove...and if I could grow my arms 12 inches I could get above the cabinets finished so I could take some photos to share here with you all. Hopefully my much taller brother will help finish it off for me soon so I can get some pics up.

[still feeling like this. but thank you all for your comments, prayers, and virtual hugs. I know I'll be fine but...you know. I just hate feeling like this.]

I actually love the ideas you've shared here! I'm a huge fan of black, white & red. Would love to see the backsplash too. I wish I could paint here in my apt but alas, cannot. I will be following to see more of your creative ideas!

I think it's going to look fabulous!! Go for it! (have no idea how to get that print up though... Maybe an overhead machine? Or a custom stencil?

I think it might work if you tape off squares on the diagonal and then remove a 1-2 inch section on the upper left and lower right of each square with an exacto knife.

Does that make sense?

It'll be super busy, but in an Elle Decor kind of way. I'm not daring enough to try it, but I think you are!

The trick I believe to get this to work will be scale. Because the fabric is what it is I suggest making the pattern for the wall about 1.5 times larger in scale than the print of the fabric.

I have no design sense, but I truely admire your adventuresome spirit and bravery. I am already looking forward to seeing the end results.

Sorry to be the voice of dissent but yes, I think it will clash or be a bit too overpowering. But you won't know for sure until you try. A safe bet would be to pull a colour from the fabric and use it in the pattern on the wall. But what do I know. Do what you feel.

i think if you do the headboard on a wall like that it needs to be a solid color.

I think the idea is great, but have you considered doing the walls in white and a color other than black? Maybe gray? Or one of the colors in the fabric for the headboard, but a more muted tone? Just an idea... I'm all for mixing patterns.

I just came over from cute.little.disaster and was looking for a post of yours (on your old blog) that she mentioned. Can you direct me to it?

And you probably don't want my opinion on this one because I love the bedroom walls as they are. It looks like a room that's easy to sleep in.
